Mechanical Drafter-Designer Internship

A manufacturer of industry quality drill-floor drilling equipment is currently recruiting a Mechanical Drafter-Designer intern to join their team in the Humble, Texas area. Name of employer and location will be revealed once resume is received.

Job Description:
Provide engineering support to CAM-TECH engineer: intern will create part and assembly models and drawings using Solidworks. Student will need to have a good working knowledge of drafting technology and a strong mechanical aptitude. Solidworks software will be provided by the company.

Mechanical Engineer Design Internship

The primary role of the Mechanical Engineer will be: 3D modeling design of industrial vibrating equipment used in the processing of dry bulk material.

Marketing/Communications Internship

Job Title:
Marketing/Communications Intern
Description:
As an intern you will be responsible for putting communication materials together for internal and external use. The primary internal project includes capturing digital pictures of product in the manufacturing process that is consolidated on a work instruction sheet for future production runs. The photos capture the important mechanical, cosmetic and packaging for a specific product that supplements the work instructions and operate as a visual aid. The primary communications for outside include shooting, editing and posting video blogs on our company website that provide education, technical tips, and promotion of company capabilities and technical strengths. These are geared to be short 1 to 2 minute video blogs that will be loaded on the company YouTube channel and promoted with tags to increase web traffic and inquiries to the company.
The position is designed for active students that need a flexible schedule. The company visits to gather video can be very flexible and the editing and production of the videos can be completed on-site or wherever the student desires. The position could be expanded to include on-site administrative internship supporting the sales and service team.

•Video blogs will be 1-2 minutes. Intern will edit, and upload on company’s YouTube channel.

•Internship will last 4 months.

Performance Improvement Leader: Full-Time
Employer:
A medical supply company located in Houston, Texas provides a wide-range of quality medical supplies to patients for use in their homes.
Description:
In this position, you will pay a key roll in helping position the company to build on its previous growth and past performance improvement successes.
The ideal candidate will help improve both operations and administrative processes in a dynamic, fast-paced environment by working closely with staff, frontline leaders, and managers.
The individual selected for this position will act as the driving force for Lean/Six Sigma deployment while leading process improvement projects and teams by acting as a coach, teacher, mentor, and internal consultant.
Duties and Responsibilities
•Designs, directs and conducts projects that improve quality, customer satisfaction, cost effectiveness, productivity, and efficiency throughout the organization
•Provide consultation and guidance on the application of Six Sigma, and/or Lean techniques, and quality improvement tools and techniques to company staff and leaders
•Collaborate with process owners and others to provide project scoping, direction and set up
•Assist departmental managers in identifying issues and linked improvement opportunities
•Helps senior leaders drive continuous improvement as well as implement effective waste identification and waste minimization tactics, tools, and techniques
•Assist managers and others to develop and implement process monitoring techniques and metrics
•Work with Corporate Trainer to design and deliver performance improvement training (Lean, Six Sigma, Project Management, etc.) designed to cultivate internal performance improvement experts and spread PI knowledge across all departments
•Serves as internal champion and change agent for building a culture of process excellence
Qualifications:
•Six Sigma Black Belt or higher is required
•Healthcare process improvement experience is highly desirable
•Healthcare project management experience is desirable
•Experience and training in Lean techniques and concepts
•Demonstrated track record of leading PI projects (Lean and/or Six Sigma) that have resulted in improved efficiency, productivity, and cost savings
•A four-year degree in business, healthcare, or related field is required
•7-10 years of relevant professional work experience with a minimum of 3 years' experience managing, leading and executing process improvement projects in a dedicated Lean/Six Sigma position
•Strong process and workflow improvement orientation
•Healthcare project management experience is desirable
•Demonstrated problem-solving skills
•Ability to build consensus and work effectively at all organizational levels from front-line staff to President/CEO
•Excellent communication skills
•Strong presentation skills and public speaking experience
•Strong computer skills - MS Office applications (PPT, Excel), MS Project, and Visio
