Export University 101 is a series of courses on exporting designed by the District Export Council (DEC). DEC is a non-profit organization associated with the U.S. Commercial Services of the U. S. Department of Commerce. The objective is to assist American companies further their export initiatives and gain new skills and innovative methods to expand their international sales. Each course will cover different topics and are stand-alone sessions.

Export University is designed for all levels of export companies seeking to identify and communicate with buyers, banks, logistics intermediaries and others in developing and implementing export transactions.

More and more small businesses looking to increase sales and profits are taking their businesses global. Since nearly 96 percent of consumers and over two-thirds of the world’s purchasing power reside outside the U.S., exporting has become an excellent way to reach new customers around the world. There are many good reasons to export including increased sales and profits, reduced dependence on domestic markets, alternate sources of revenue, and extended sales potential just to name a few.

Join the UH SBDC, DEC, and the U.S. Department of Commercial Services and discover how you can start or expand your international initiative. This is a great opportunity to meet key people in the field of exporting as well as ask questions.
